THE LAST KNOCK presents: Those We Lost

The Last Knock

For many of us, 2016 could easily be the “Year of the Reaper” from an entertainment standpoint. We lost many souls who worked and trailblazed in front of and behind the camera. Here, we not only look at the big names of horror who left us, but those you may not even recognize.

Our very best wishes to the friends, the families, and the fans who lost those in horror who made the genre great.

  1. Although this was an extremely tough show to present, you did it very well. For several days, I listened and IMDbed many of those lost during last year. Initially, while a sad process, I quickly began to really enjoy the trips down film lane, finding comfort in knowing their fine works are there for all to enjoy, and in a real way, through their works, they will live forever.
Like your show, your SCREAM OUTS kill… in fact, award worthy.
    Many thanks, guys!

    1. Thank you so very much, Ron. This is never an easy show to do, but Jon and I hope to celebrate the person who passed rather than mourn. Thanks to Jon, he found many of those in the horror genre who may have gone unnoticed. Be well, my friend!

  2. Wow. I had no idea some of the people listed here had passed in 2016. Thanks for bringing attention to all the talents that went under the radar, overshadowed by the names more generally recognized. It’s good to see them recognized as well. It’s also a needed catharsis for us to share a public mourning for so many who became a part of our lives, even if we never knew them personally.
Jonny, you will definitely enjoy ‘Wicker Man’ this time around. It really deserves it’s standing among fans.
Thank you both for another enjoyable show, and for the Scream Out! See ya next time.

    1. Guy, your comments are stellar and much appreciated. And you certainly worthy of those SCREAM OUTS!

As always, thank you so much for listening, and I’m glad this episode proved worthwhile.

    2. I agree 110% with your statement on “needed catharsis,” Guy – I couldn’t have put it better myself.

Thanks as always for listening and commenting. I look forward to seeing THE WICKER MAN, in its uncut form, in the near future!

      1. Can’t believe we just lost the ultra-cool Miguel Ferrer. He crushed it in THE NIGHT-FLIER – a horror film that should have more appreciation.

          1. And ROBOCOP.

And now John Hurt died. It’s like the horrors of 2016 continue. He rocked so hard in ALIEN, V FOR VENDETTA, THE FIELD, and everything else he appeared in.
